Giselle Travers

Director

My role is to ensure that we not only meet the immediate needs of our customers and suppliers but that we continuously add value by facilitating and contributing to the long-term development of their business in Australia and New Zealand. Service excellence, market intelligence, innovation, technical, commercial and regulatory support all form part of that process. For me it is very much about delivering on promises rather than promising to deliver”.

Giselle or Giz as she is more commonly referred to has had a successful career in both multi-national and local Australian manufacturing companies.

Giz joined PGH, Sydney’s premier brick company in 1982, rapidly progressing from internal sales to establishing herself as one of PGH’s top sales representatives. By 1985 Giz’s outstanding results saw her promoted to NSW Sales Manager a role that brought with it responsibility for developing and implementing innovative sales training tools and techniques.

In 1988 Giz relocated from Sydney to Adelaide and joined the soft drink division of Cadbury Schweppes as Business Development Manager and through her targeted marketing efforts was instrumental in growing Schweppes’ market share for the Pepsi brand by over 20%.

Returning home to Sydney in 1989, Giz joined the Rhône-Poulenc Group to spearhead sales to the Pharmaceutical industry and inside 3-years grew the business 10-fold. Promotion quickly followed and by the time Giz left R-P in 1995 she had not only become one of their most successful Business Managers but also won a string of customer awards (eg Sterling Pharmaceuticals).

Personal development has always been a priority and it was during this period that Giz undertook a degree in Marketing at the University of NSW. Joining Roussel Uclaf in 1995 as National Sales & Marketing Manager, it wasn’t long (1996) before she was promoted to General Manager eventually becoming a Director of Aventis Pharma Australia in 1999.

By 2001 when the opportunity arose to acquire the business, Giz had almost doubled the business and further cemented the companies’ position as one of the pharmaceutical, veterinary and personal care industries most respected suppliers.

Giz brings to Trapeze a wealth of experience in sales, strategic marketing, people development and general management. Her support and mentoring of the Trapeze team ensures their ongoing individual development, while her passion for service excellence coupled with her excellent relationship building skills has earned Giz the respect of both customers and suppliers.

While Giz and Michael share responsibilities for developing the strategic vision of the company her day-to-day operational role is very much “Sales & Marketing”. Giz is intimately involved with all aspects of customer service and still retains direct sales responsibility for several strategic accounts.
